Angel J. Miller, MSN, CNM has been practicing midwifery since 1997, when she received her certification from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Kentucky (now Frontier Nursing University). She also received her Bachelor and Master Degrees of Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She has worked for many years as a labor and delivery nurse at a teaching institution before becoming a midwife, and was on the heart-lung transplant team at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, having the privilege of seeing the miracle of saving lives. But women’s health was her calling and she prides herself in offering women choices in their health care. She is a strong advocate for women having options, participation and decision-making in their healthcare and in helping them reach their optimal health.
After relocating to the Washington D.C./Maryland area, Ms. Miller decided to continue her support for women and brought WomanPlace, Inc. to the Mid Atlantic with many new and innovative services. She continued to provide excellent midwifery care and was the Midwifery Service Director at Midwifery Care Associates, a nurse midwifery practice located in Rockville, Maryland, just north of the Washington, D.C. area. She expanded this practice with her certified nurse-midwife colleagues in the Montgomery and Frederick County areas. She now is residing in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area and plans to continue her work in Women’s Health.
Ms. Miller co-authored “9 Months In ~ 9 Months Out,” a resource guide throughout pregnancy and through the first 9 months of a mother’s postpartum period. The book was released on Mothers’ Day of 2011. She also writes a blog geared towards pregnancy and women’s health.
Ms. Miller continues to be a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and also the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ACNM, has provided a comprehensive range of services in women’s health, including many years experience as a labor and delivery nurse. She has worked with a diverse population from large urban cities to rural communities. She prides herself in offering women education and choices in their health care throughout their lifetime. She enjoys using and offering herbal and alternative therapies for her patients.
